Papa Travel

Have just came back from station as papa has gone to Kolkata , didi's place.

Back home , its lifeless without papa . His room is dark , no music , no spiritual chant , talks , classical instrumental ...all...everything is quite . He has been the vibrant force behind me ..always cheerful and although he never expresses , my sisters always tell me that when he is with them ...he only talks about me . I too have seen , he never likes staying at other places if I have not accompanied him .

Things have been upside down for me from the time maa has left , and papa has been the reason for all my aspirations .

He would be back Delhi now in mid January next year ....a  long time to be without him .

Shradh | Pitr Paksha Shradh

I was having a long chat with my friend on this period which we all know as “Shradh “ yesterday . A period when no good deeds are done and it’s said that any good act wont yield any result .

This is what I have got from the net on the purpose and reason for this period :

“The shradh fortnight is the period when the 'pitra' ancestors from previous lifetimes are able to approach the earth planet and their descendants. The pitras approach the earth once a year during shradh through Lord Ganesha's grace to get relief from their sufferings. They feed on the willing offerings made to them by descendants--or by forcefully taking good fortune energies from their unwilling or ignorant descendants. Clearly it is in the interest of the descendants to help them, and so help themselves”

I have complete faith on my divine and so other than that , nothing excites me . When he has created everything with the same divine touch , how come a period in a year cannot be auspicious  .

Moreover this period is talking about soul …. Journey of a soul , which includes darkness and enlighten of it can happen only if its in a body . when it’s a soul , it’s part of divine and so all these religious preaching are just gimmicks created by the Pandits .

Its same as we try to do “Pran Prathistha” once a divine idol is set up in a temple . Its such a irony  ….. humans instigating Pran to divine .

Saat Phere

Just received a wedding invitation from one of my close family friend and I was really fascinated by the card . If has the meaning and explanation of Saat Phere (Seven vows) 

1. With our first step together we pray to God to provide us with pure and nourishing food. Together we will live our lives with honor and respect for each other.

2. With our second step together we pledge to grow in physical, mental and spiritual strengths. Together we will share happiness and enjoy life.

3. With our third step we promise each other to earn and increase wealth by righteous way and provide comfort to the family. Together we will share all our sorrows and joys.
4. With our forth step together we pledge not to forget our parents and elders. Together we will maintain and strengthen the family bonds.
5. With our fifth step together we pray to God to bless us with beautiful, kind and brave children.  Together as responsible parents, we shall provide them with good education and values of life.
6. With our sixth step together, we pray to God for a healthy and disease free life for us and our families. Together we will live a balanced and harmonious life.

7. With our seventh step together, we promise to be a loyal companion. Together we will live a life of mutual trust, love and friendship.

Its like a bible and Geeta of marriage ….so beautifully summed up

There are very few things on which I and Jayanti agree , specially when it comes to music and movies . But when it comes to favorite actress , we both have common choice " Praveen Boby " .

She has been the most beautiful actress who has graced Indian cinema . Her glamorous roles in Deewar , Namak Halaal has been remarkable . But we both love her for her of the track movie " Rang Birangi " Amazing role with co star Amol Palaker . Must watch and we both enjoy watching this movie at home .

MOH

Since I live in the past, it’s almost every day that I spend hours with my mother in mind.The time I spend with her , each events , all is still fresh and seems it has happened yesterday .

This word "MOH" came in mind today as its almost impossible to detach oneself from something which you know is no more , but its MOH which keeps you attached

When I was performing the last rituals after cremating my mother , the purohit asked me to finally free her "mukt" and the process for the same was to write RAM in the opposite , ie MARA and then she would be free from all of us , her soul would have attained "Mukti" . It was so difficult to write that word on the sand and even today I have not let her go . Selfish , I know I am , but I don’t want to leave her ...so strong is my MOH, may be because of that her soul is not attaining enligtment , but I don’t want her to detach .

The BODY

I was at the cremation ground few days back . All around burning bodies , relatives , friends , grieving family members , and the silent bodies ready for the last journey .

The end is final , I just had a thought that we all talk about soul , which progress and the body is just an instrument , but don’t you feel there should be a way to take the body along with soul . The whole journey of soul is supported by body , and its left back .

We are born, we see whole ups and downs, our journey , good and bad , emotions and all this is handled by body alone .

I shared the same thought with my father , and his answer was , shedding the body is important , that’s the nature of universe . There is no better way than what divine has created, even for the body to be left back .
